Changes to the Road Traffic Rules (PDZR) in Ukraine: What Has Changed

In October 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a series of changes to the Road Traffic Rules (PDZR). These innovations are another step in the process of aligning Ukrainian legislation with EU law.

What drivers need to know:

Drivers of all vehicles are obliged to turn on daytime running lights while driving outside populated areas regardless of the season. Previously, this requirement was seasonal and applied from October 1 to April 1.

Children shorter than 150 cm can only be transported in a car if special restraining systems (car seats) are used. Children cannot be transported on the rear seat of a motorcycle or moped, except in certain situations.

The list of road signs indicating special parking spaces for cars on highways and roads has been clarified.
