For violations of parking rules in Ukraine, municipal police inspectors often go beyond issuing fines. Vehicles that obstruct traffic or create obstacles are frequently towed to impound lots. The grounds for vehicle evacuation in Ukraine have now been expanded. What could lead to your car being towed?

Previously, evacuations applied to vehicles parked within populated areas with violations or those parked in spaces designated for electric cars. Additionally, tow trucks could remove vehicles causing obstacles to electrically powered vehicles or cases where a car poses a safety threat or significantly hinders traffic.

Now, according to Cabinet Resolution No. 855, law enforcement agencies have the additional right to tow vehicles with counterfeit license plates or those resembling the license plates of the National Guard or Armed Forces. Vehicles without proper state-standard license plates are also subject to mandatory evacuation.

If your car obstructs parking for electric cars or drivers with disabilities, it may also be towed to the impound lot. These changes are reportedly aimed at enhancing overall road safety.
